RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides Sourcing and Product Delivery Process (PDP) support. This includes development and execution/enforcement of strategies and contracts related to commodities.
- Understand assigned commodities and use knowledge to negotiate optimized cost structures for the Bell group.
- Investigate opportunities through sourcing in different geographical areas and identify possible cost savings.
- Identify inefficiencies in the supply chain and correct them in a responsible manner that does not affect availability of parts.
- Assists with cost models, make vs. buy studies, spend analysis, and other data analyses related to global sourcing.
- Use input from Supply Management and other teams to identify parts to be re-sourced.
DUTIES:
Develop and implement the organisation’s sourcing strategy through executing the following duties:
- Analyse commodity groups and identify strategies to maximize the benefit to the Bell group.
- Engage with suppliers during price adjustments to ensure optimal pricing for the Bell group.
- Monitor market conditions and identify opportunities to approach suppliers for reduced pricing.
- Implement cost savings by identifying more cost effective opportunities in the market
- Constantly improve the Global Sourcing process efficiency
- Optimise lead times (Supplier to dock)
- Identify and set up optimum supplier sources for new components identified in the new product development projects within the agreed project timelines.
- Communicate selected suppliers to the identified role players within the company
- Visit suppliers to get an understanding of the supplier in his environment and identify their strengths/weaknesses, capacity, limitations and market views.
- Involve all relevant role players within the company when suppliers are visiting Bell. Assist the supplier with his arrangement when required. Identify the tactical resource to facilitate meeting.
- Responsible to maintain material data integrity affecting component cost.
- Negotiate all Commercial agreements with new Suppliers. Maintain and review current agreements with existing suppliers.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree/diploma in Commerce, Engineering or Supply Management
- Project Management Certificate will be an added advantage
- Candidate must be fluent in English
- Being able to communicate in German will be an added advantage
- Candidate must have a valid driver’s license.
- Minimum of three years’ in an operational supply management role
- Minimum of three years’ experience of working in a cross functional team involving engineering solutions.
- Minimum of 6 month experience of managing projects
- Good computer skills and must have proficiency with numbers.
- Sound knowledge of Mapics in terms of MRP, IM, PUR, PDM, Item Master, Item Balance, Vendor Item Master and Personal Menu Queries as per Bell implementation.
- Sound knowledge of the SAP Material Management Module.
- Good communication and report writing skills
- Good negotiation skills
- Must be able and willing to do local as well as international travel.
- Must be living in a commutable distance from work and be prepared to work additional hours
